The Future of Us – Breaking down Barriers βBreaking down barriers: Kick-start collaborations to accelerate the energy and circular transitionβ For the 5th edition of The Future of Us, which will be held on Thursday 28 September at our regular venue on the Kleefse Waard industrial park in Arnhem, we will be welcoming guests from the Netherlands and from across Europe. This year, together with our partners we will once again put on a must-see festival that will link up the energy transition with the circular economy and innovation, where participants can meet up, inspire each other and forge new connections. This year’s theme: Breaking down Barriers The theme of this yearβs edition is Breaking down Barriers. Making the energy transition and the transition to a circular economy a success requires breaking through the barriers that stand in the way of these transitions. These include barriers between sectors, between plans and their execution, and between current behaviour and the behaviour we want to see. National and regional borders also pose barriers, as do language and cultural differences and differences in laws and regulations. All these barriers will be addressed. This yearβs keynote speakers will include Dutch journalist and producer Teun van de Keuken, best known for being one of the presenters on βKeuringdienst van Waardeβ, a TV programme that explores where our food comes from and how itβs produced. Also speaking will be Rico Bakker, podcast creator and author of βDe kracht van een slecht ideeβ (βThe Power of a Bad Ideaβ), a book that seeks unconventional answers to crucial issues. Keynotes, panel discussions, inspiration square and Jan Terlouw Innovation Award In addition to these keynote speeches, a group of Dutch and international speakers we will delve more deeply into this yearβs theme. There will be presentations, interviews and panel discussions on three stages and the highlight of the festival will be the presentation of Kiemtβs Jan Terlouw Innovation Award. Of course, we will also once again be hosting the innovation square, taking place in between the stages, where participants can meet, strike up conversations with innovative entrepreneurs and get inspired by innovations in the area of circularity and energy. Save the date: September 28! The doors of our venue on the Kleefse Waard industrial park will open at 13:00.
